Shadwell

Shadwell farm’s main US farm is located in Lexington, KY, if you have ever flown into or out of Lexington airport you fly right over it. They also have a farm in Midway, KY and one outside of Georgetown KY. All of their farms have 4 board fence with no baton. The farm manager Scott Clemons says they have about a 100 miles of 4 board fence spread out over their 3 farms. We are in the process of replacing it all. Shadwell is also home to many great horses including Aljabar, Dayjur, Sahm, and Swain.

Shadwell farms has plenty of room for very large fields, or whatever they want to do. They have a full time repair crew that does pretty much nothing but ride around all day and replaces any warped or bad boards. With fields this size you can be sure they never lack anything to do.

Large fields are not for every one, but when you own a few thousand acres in the middle of Fayette County you can do things like this.

This is how Shadwell likes to do their tree pens. They like to have plenty of room to get into each one and mow. They also like to keep the horse well away from the tree and anything in it, hopefully preventing MRLS from happening.
